Herki rugs were made by the Herki Kurds who lived in the Kurd Mountains. These rugs are distinctive because of the tribal designs and because of their heft. As opposed to the warmer areas of Turkey, the mountainous areas get colder and they weave their rugs much thicker for warmth. These rugs weigh 2-3 times what similar size rugs weigh. They are also very soft and fluffy and perfect for bare feet on a cold day!
100% wool, vegetable dyed. This is a vintage item that may have some stains, wear, worn spots, repairs, holes, fading or other naturally occurring damage. We only offer items we would be happy to have in our own homes but want you to be aware that you are not purchasing brand new condition items!
