My Grammy would be proud that I know the name of this star, a sawtooth star. The pink and purple and aqua color palette are fully saturated but toned down a bit allowing the pattern to shine.

Herki rugs were made by the Herki Kurds who lived in the Kurd Mountains. These rugs are distinctive because of the tribal designs and because of their heft. As opposed to the warmer areas of Turkey, the mountainous areas get colder and they weave their rugs much thicker for warmth. These rugs weigh 2-3 times what similar size rugs weigh. They are also very soft and fluffy and perfect for bare feet on a cold day!
